Motion analysis enables healthcare practitioners to both evaluate and create deliberate treatment protocols relying on evidence-based research for the population of aquatic. These sport-specific protocols can increase patient numbers, improve patient outcomes, establish trust between patient, practitioner and coach, and strengthen return to sport protocols. Motion analysis allows for cross disciplinary conversations to occur because objective motion analysis enables clinicans and practitioners to speak the same language - and "see" the same things. It also acts as an excellent biofeedback tool for the athlete. For swimmers, video-analysis is especially powerful as it enables practitioners and sports scientists to see the complete stroke cycle and identify where biomechanical and kinematic deficiencies exists. By identifying the movement deficiencies, professionals can identify asterisk signs for course of treatment and better outline a successful path to avoid reoccurrence of injury.
