BTS SMART-D

High precision digital optical system for multifactor movement analysis

Up to 12 cameras

Up to 500 fps

BTS SMART-D is the new high resolution digital optical system that allows performance analysis of all types of movement with a level of precision and accuracy never before reached . BTS SMART-D improves the characteristics of the highly flexibile SMART Systems already appreciated by researchers throughout the world who require daily operation of an easy to configure and use system.
Due to its innovative architecture, the unsurpassable quality of its calibration system and new algorithms of three-dimensional reconstruction, SMART-D provides the most enhanced technology for capturing quick and sometimes imperceptible movements. The new digital TVC's are provided with more compact and powerful strobes to enlarge the working volume and to allow operation in all types of lighting conditions, including out door environments.
SMART-D is provided with SMART Analyzer, the robust software solution for biomechanical motion analysis, and is able to integrate kinematics data synchronously with information derived from analog devices (force platforms,
EMG, sensorized treadmill or other devices). SMART Analyzer allows customized protocols to automatically generate all the necessary data for a complete analysis
of the motion. The user has the capability of developing with ease and efficiency, customizable analysis protocols. The multimedia reports, configurable depending on need, can be printed, exported or shared on the web.
BTS SMART-D is the most advanced system for the research, athletics and industrial fields. Completeness, flexibility and accuracy make it unsurpassed for multifactor motion analysis in many application fields: Clinical and research biomechanics, Sports Applications, Robotics, Motor Science, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Virtual Reality, etc.

Main features:

Precision, velocity and accuracy
New digital cameras: assure an even clearer and noise-free signal. New hardware architecture: allow for higher frequency and resolution acquisitions and real time results.

Quicker and easier calibration
SMART-D is provided with the new bar calibration system THOR2 which allows for a quicker set-up time in critical situations, even with obstacles partially obscuring the camera’s field of vision.

Integrated software suite for biomechanical analysis of motion
  • Real-time visualization of signals of all integrated devices
  • 3D kinematics reconstruction
  • Validated by international scientific community protocols
  • Tool for easy construction of analysis protocols
  • Multimedia customizable and web reporting

Integration with analog devices
Up to 64 analog channels to connect and synchronize signals coming from EMG’s, force platforms, sensorized treadmils, cycleergometers etc... for complete analysis of the movement.

New integrated workstation
Included in a single box is all the most advanced technology for the acquisition, elaboration and analysis of data. Based on Intel Xeon® architecture allowing direct control of the optical cameras, the video-based cameras and all the analog devices connected.

Accurate data synchronization for extended acquisitions
All the data collected by the system is sent in packets, with each containing a temporal reference of its creation in the acquisition (time-stamp). The system architecture, based on a single temporal line, allows correlating data which puts the received packets in the right sequence. In this way all the kinematics, kinetics,
electromyographic and video information will always be synchronized, even for long acquisitions.
