BTS SMART Analyzer

SMART Analyzer is a complete solution for the biomechanical analysis of movement providing three-dimensional kinematic data as well as video and analog data from force platforms, electromyographs or other devices.

The flexibility and completeness of this instrument make it the ideal technology for multifactor movement analysis in various application fields, including neurophysiology, prosthesis, robotics, veterinary science, phonetics and sports.

The biomechanical function of the software generates all the data required by the user for a complete analysis of motor gestures.

Main features:

Very easy, flexible and effective development of analysis protocols thanks to the simplicity of the graphical blocks interface and to the power of the computation engine, which uses the Intel IPP libraries for digital signal processing.

All the features of the layout and print of the results are user definable; the integrated graphics engine can automatically produce multimedia presentations in HTML format with no pagination constraints.

Easily integrated with other motion capture systems and with the most common applications. Because of the many supported formats, it can import data acquired with other systems or processed by Matlab, and export data and presentations in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Specifications:

  • Step by step generation of all the biomechanical data using an intuitive graphical blocks interface with simple drag and drop functionality.
  • Processing of a variety of data relevant to biomechanics: distances, angles, speeds, accelerations (linear and angular), forces, moments, powers etc.
  • Presentation of all kinds of data with three-dimensional viewers, graphs and numerical tables
  • Implementation of all the most commonly used techniques for interpolation, smoothing and filtering of many kinds of signals.
  • Generation of anatomical reference systems different to the lab's reference system, allowing the user to analyze and present the data in various coordinate systems.
  • Time analysis of signals, allowing the user to define events manually (or with automatic techniques) during the acquisition, for the analysis of repeated gestures in a normalized domain (for ex. the gait cycle).
  • Import/export and archiving of files in different formats; text and other standard formats (c3d).
  • Setup and control of normality boundaries to acquire, save and compare data from homogeneous groups of patients for comparison analyses.
  • Various measurement units can be set for each protocol.
  • All data in the report module can be represented using vector graphics (SVG); available objects are graphs and cyclograms, tables, text boxes, images and videos.
  • Report definition with simple mouse operations, by dragging and dropping objects; each object can be resized, moved or copied at will within a page or from one page to another.
  • The report can be printed or saved in HTML or PDF format, and specific objects can be exported in other applications (Word or PowerPoint).
